Concorso Italiano 2001
The 2001 Concorso Italiano was held at the beautiful Quail Lodge Resort in Carmel, California, August 17, 2001.
The Concorso Italiano collaboration has produced the world's most beautiful and significant automobiles. It is an honor for the Concorso to host this tribute and offer enthusiasts the rare opportunity to experience the passion for beauty, quality and high performance created by this long-standing partnership.
The Feature Display was the Pininfarina concepts on Ferrari mechanicals and which included the Ferrari Dino 206 Competizione, Ferrari P6, Sigma Grand Prix, Ferrari Modulo, Ferrari BB Prototype, Ferrari Mythos and the " Rossa, " all from the Pininfarina Private Collection in Turin.

Special Guests included Mr. Sergio Pininfarina, Chairman and Managing Director of Pininfarina S.p.A, Mr. Andrea Pininfarina, Managing Director and General Manager of Industrie Pininfarina S.p.A and Managing Director of Pininfarina Studi e Ricerche S.p.A, Ms. Lorenza Pininfarina, Director Communication and Brand Image Pininfarina S.p.A.
Mr. Piero Ferrari, Vice President of Ferrari S.p.A, and Mr. Stuart Robinson, President and CEO of Ferrari North America Inc., will also attended the event.
"Technology & Beauty -- 50 years of Ferrari & Pininfarina" was the Concorso's main feature, celebrating the half century collaboration between two of the world's greatest automotive names.

Pininfarina concepts based on Ferrari mechanicals and one-off show cars made up the "Centerpiece Display" and featured seven awe-inspiring examples from the Pininfarina private collection in Turin. They were the '67 Dino 206 Competizione, the '68 Ferrari P6, '69 Sigma Grand Prix, '70 Ferrari Modulo, '71 Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer Prototype, '89 Mythos and, making its California debut, the sensational 2000 Ferrari " Rossa ".

" Rossa " ...one of the Pininfarina-designed Ferrari prototypes was on display, courtesy of the Pininfarina Collection. The Rossa interprets and pushes forward some of the key themes in the long partnership between Ferrari and Pininfarina, in particular the competition Spiders of the 50s and the Mythos prototype of 1989.
