Actor Don Johnson sold six vehicles from his own collection, including a restored 1949 Ford pickup that was a gift from his then-wife Melanie Griffith and a 1989 Ferrari custom-built for him during his "Miami Vice" TV show days. Johnsons pride and joy, the custom-built 1989 Ferrari Testarossa was gifted to him from his close and personal friend, the late Enzo Ferrari. The silver Testarossa, with only 10,170 original miles, was given to Johnson while he starred in the popular show "Miami Vice". In the hit series, Johnson drove a Ferrari Testarossa. The Ferrari sold at auction for $88,560.
The Ferrari results are in... following four days of bidding on dream cars at this year's 32nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction for 2003.
Considered the world's largest and most anticipated automobile auctions, the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction was held January 15-19, 2003 in the sun soaked Sonoran Desert center in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.

Getting in as a spectator, Tickets were $20 at the gate.

According to Barrett-Jackson President Craig Jackson, this year's sale clearly demonstrated the classic car market is a ripe alternative to the volatile stock market. "We are seeing a continuing trend that our bidders prefer to drive away in an investment rather than relying on traditional means of diversifying their stock portfolio," said Jackson.
Throughout the four-day auction, crowds exceeding 165,000 people watched as prices paid on the auction podium skyrocketed and bidders vied for an unparalleled selection of collector cars. "This years auction saw top prices paid in nearly all categories of cars," commented Jackson. "We also exceeded a number of previously established world record prices for certain car models," continued Jackson.
The event saw an astounding 90 percent of the nearly 800 car lots declared sold, adding the 240 Automobilia lots sold, pushed the total sales volume very close to $28.5 million. The final attendance the four-day auction was 175,000.
